Weekend Recap – Week 17

On Thursday night……

Fife Flyers 2   Dundee Stars 3    –  Elite League   

The Flyers opening goal at 01:32 was their fastest in a game this season.

Congratulations to Joe Lynch who made his Flyers debut – the 25th player to do so this season.

Joe also became the 3rd generation of the Lynch family to play for the Flyers – the only other family to feature three generations plating for the Flyers are the Lovell’s.

A total of 215 players have now dressed for Flyers during their 13 EIHL seasons.

Congratulations to Kieran Craig who scored his first point as a Flyer.

The 6 Stars shots on the Flyers net in the third period equals the lowest against in a period this season.

For the first time in 9 matches the Flyers scored the opening goal of the game. The last time they did so was 23rd November against Cardiff.

The Flyers have now scored the opening goal in 7 of the 33 matches played this season.

The Flyers had a lead(s) in the game for the first time in five matches.

On Saturday night……

Dundee Stars 7         Fife Flyers 2     –  Elite League   

The Stars made it 5 consecutive wins against the Flyers which equals their best ever streak against Fife in all EIHL competitions.

Stars have now only lost once in their last 8 meetings with the Flyers.

Stars 59 shots on Flyers goal equalled the most given up by Fife in a game this season.

Congratulations to Patrick Kyte and Kieran Craig who each scored their first goal for the Flyers

Philippe Sanche increased his team leading goals total against the Flyers to 16 in all EIHL competitions.
