Recent Form Guide

The teams met a fortnight ago in Glasgow with Challenge Cup points at stake. Since that meeting the Clan then travelled to Belfast the following midweek and were shutout 3-0 by the Giants who took a decisive step towards securing top spot in the qualification group. Last weekend the Clan were on their travels with a road double header. On Saturday they visited the Guildford Flames and in a tight first couple of periods they lead 2-1 going into the third period. The Flames however came roaring back to hit the Clan with 4 goals and take a 5-3 win. On the Sunday night in Coventry it was an equally evenly contested match for the first 40 minutes with the teams tied at one a piece going into the final 20 minutes. An early power play goal and a late empty netter for the home side left the Clan empty handed for the weekends efforts. This will be the Clan’s 10th league game of the season with only three so far being played on home ice. The Clan have a Challenge Cup clash with the Dundee Stars at Braehead the night before heading to Fife in what is all but a dead rubber game with the Clan already confirmed as the team heading into the play off game from Group B.

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 10th DUNDEE STARS v FIFE FLYERS @ DUNDEE ICE ARENA – FACE OFF 5.00pm

Recent Form Guide

Two weeks ago the Stars travelled to Kirkcaldy and left with a lopsided result in Challenge Cup action. Since then the Stars visited the Belfast Giants last weekend and just as the Flyers had faced 24 hours earlier they needed a win to keep their slim Challenge Cup qualification chances alive. The Giants scored the only goal of the game in the third period to confirm their group win and also second place for the Glasgow Clan. The previous night the Stars were in league action when they hosted the Coventry Blaze. The home side were well in control of the game leading by a pair going into the third period before the Blaze hit back and took a 3-2 lead. Stars levelled late to then take both points in overtime with a shorthanded goal. This past midweek the Stars hosted the Cardiff Devils in league play at home where they lost out in a high scoring encounter 6-4 before they headed to Braehead Arena on Friday night to conclude their Challenge Cup games against the Glasgow Clan.
