COOLEN ADDS RYAN FOSS

Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are delighted to announce the signing of 6’3”, Canadian centreman Ryan Foss.

The 28 year old returns to Europe after having played the latter part of last season with HC 19 Humenné in the Slovakian Extraliga. His arrival from the Norfolk Admirals on January 6th saw him as a replacement for Vitalijs Pavlovs who had joined the Flyers a month earlier. Before that, Foss played 18 months in the ECHL for the Norfolk Admirals and returned 20 goals and 46 assists (66 points) in 93 games. He joined the Admirals after spending the 2021-22 season in the France2 league with Neuilly-sur-Marne. In 25 games with the club, in what was his first professional season, Foss was second on the team in points (36) and led the team in assists (26).

Before heading overseas, the Oakville, Ontario native played four years at Acadia University in USports. His career with the Axemen consisted of 81 games played with 15 goals and 27 assists. In 2016-17, the 6-foot-3, 185-pound forward shined with the Oakville Blades in the Ontario Junior A Hockey League (OJHL). Foss led the team with 68 points in 52 games played. His junior career began with the Windsor Spitfires in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He started his career with 32 points in 58 games during the 2013-14 season with the Spitfires.

On the signing of Foss, Coach Tom Coolen commented, ‘Ryan is a solid skating big center who put up good numbers in the ECHL. He gives us more depth and size down the middle’

On joining Fife Flyers, Foss commented, ‘I am very excited about joining the team and competing with the guys. After speaking with Coach Coolen I knew this would be a great fit. I have heard nothing but good things about the organisation and look forward to getting to know the fans and helping the team win.’
