The Flyer gameday programme

The Fife Flyers have produced a matchnight programme almost every year since their inaugural issues in the 1938/39 season. For some, buying a programme at the rink is an important part of their gamenight experience. Following the return to the rink after the pandemic we asked fans their opinion on the matchnight programme by way of a survey.

On the whole the feedback was positive for those who regularly purchased a programme.

Sadly however, over a number of seasons there has been a steady decline in the sale of programmes whilst the cost of their production has increased.

Last season we trialed a reformat of the programme to enable a drop in price and attempt to increase sales. We were aware that a lot of information was lost and countered that with more online content on our website and through social media channels. We are also mindful of a general decline in the interest in printed output and specifically programmes, for example many football clubs have discontinued their production in recent years. A programme is many things to many people but one important role it plays is allowing us to record the history of the clubs through news, player information, statistics etc

With all of this in mind we will be moving the printed programme this season to a digital format. This was something that the survey also indicated might be of interest to people. The programme will be available to download for free on the day of each home game. It will allow us to reintroduce previous content and will also provide a more attractive reach for our loyal sponsors and advertisers. We understand that in this ever increasing digital age that not everyone has the inclination nor indeed capability to access such material. We are extremely sorry if this has a negative impact on your match night experience. We will also have available each gamenight some printed gamesheets if you are someone who likes to record the events of the match.

As we move forward we will continue our efforts to enhance the product whilst at all times being considerate of any feedback which we receive from you our fans.
