Fife Flyers Ice hockey club are pleased to announce the signing of left shooting forward, Nikolai Shulga.
Nikolai is 21 years of age and enjoyed a profitable rookie season in the Kazakhstan Hockey Championship last year with Nomad Astana where he put up 14 goals and 19 assists. He was also a Continental Cup winner following a clean sweep of the three games played in Cardiff in January alongside Artur Gatiyatov.
Nikolai made his senior international debut in the World Championships in Prague this year for Kazakhstan and has also represented them at U20 level where he led the team scoring in the 2021/22 Division 1A Championship.
On the acquisition of Nikolai, Head Coach Tom Coolen stated “Nikolai is a young energetic forward who has a nice
scoring touch. He wants to get better and he has good speed and a high compete level”.
