Flyers add Continental Cup ‘Best Forward’ Gatiyatov

Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are delighted to announce the signing of 24 year old forward Artur

Hailing from Kazakhstan, Artur was a member of the victorious Nomad Astana team in last season’s
Continental Cup where he went on to be voted the top forward of the tournament with his 2 goals and 6
assists underlining his playmaking abilities.

With the exception of the 22/23 season, when he played in the Finnish Mestis league, Artur has played at all levels for the various clubs in Astana. The left shooter led the team scoring for Nomad in all
Kazakhstan competitions last year with 58 points and his 15 goals and 33 assists in the Championship
was 4th best overall. He also led the Kazakhstan U20 team in scoring as they were promoted to the top
pool in season 17/18 and was voted best forward of the tournament.

On signing Artur, Coach Coolen said, “Gatiyatov is a quick young forward with outstanding passing ability. He finds shooting lanes and sticks. As the top scorer on a good team in Astana he can be a dynamic player for the Flyers this season.”
