Fife Flyers 5 Coventry Blaze 2 – Elite League

The Flyers finished their regular season home games against Coventry with a 2 and 1 record. The Flyers have taken four of the six points against the Blaze at home in each of the last three seasons.

Overall the Flyers record against the Blaze in the league this season was 4-1-1 and the 9 points returned is the most they have collected from Blaze since being in the EIHL.  The 25 goals scored is also the most in a season against Blaze during the EIHL era.

Johan Eriksson was the Flyers top goal scorer this season against the Blaze with five goals.

The Flyers have now picked up points in 21 of their last 26 since games since Hogmanay. Three of the five losses have been against top three clubs with two of those also being on the road.

Lucas Chiodo became the 6th Flyers player to record 100 shots across all EIHL competitions this season.

The 3 shots against in second period tied a season low for a period this season and the 26 shots against is a season low for a game, the previous lowest being 29.

Teemu Pulkkinen leads the team across all EIHL competitions this season on a shots to goals ratio with a 16.5% efficiency with Johan Eriksson next on 15.6%. The team average is 10%.

With 8 games to play this season the Flyers points total of 41 is 12 points more than they had at the same stage last season. Last season the Flyers missed a playoff spot by 1 point with a total of 34 points.
