Moyer in action vs EC Peit

The FiFab Fife Flyers wrapped up their pre-season with a comfortable 6-1 win over EC Peiting at Fife Ice Arena.

Flyers were once again without the defensive trio of Kyle Follmer, Ric Jackman and Phil Paquet, as well as forward Shayne Stockton who missed tonight's game.

It didn't take Flyers long to open their scoring when Matt Sisca tipped Justin Fox's pass up in to the roof of Andreas Magg's net to make it 1-0 after only 44 seconds.

Sisca doubled the Flyers lead shortly after some nice stick handling and fired the puck beyond Andreas Magg, making it 2-0 to Fife. Sisca then turned provider when he and Fox combined to set up Sebastien Thinel to score his 2nd goal of the weekend at 6:46.

EC Peiting settled in to the game and created their own chances but Shane Owen in the Flyers net was equal to everything that came his way.

Sebastien Thine got his 2nd goal of the game in the final minutes of the opening period to make it 4-0 at 18:46.

Into the 2nd period and Flyers continued to dominate the play but were unable to extend their lead despite out-shooting their German visitors by 16 shots to 5. The best chance of the period coming when Ryan Dingle and Chad Smith combined only to see Smith's shot hit the EC Peiting post.

Flyers gave back-up netminder Craig Douglas some ice time when he came on for starting netminder Shane Owen at 29:55. The score remained the same going into the final period with Flyers leading 4-0.

EC Peiting pulled a goal back when influential forward Ty Morris skated from his own zone towards the Flyers net and fire a shot high above Craig Douglas' shoulder into the top corner at 45:28.

Flyers rounded off their pre-season campaign with a 6-1 victory after 3rd period goals from Brendan Brooks and Chase Schaber.
