Ricards Birzins

Fife Flyers, sponsored by Arnold Clark Mercedes-Benz, are delighted to confirm the re-signing of Latvian defenceman Ričards Birziņš. The 29 year old, 6’0" defenceman from Riga, Latvia was a member of the 2017/18 Fife Flyers Gardiner Conference championship winning side.

Last season Birziņš iced in 68 games with the Flyers, tallying 7 goals and 28 assists.

During his time in the EIHL previously with Manchester Storm, Birziņš played in 38 games, scoring 7 goals and 17 assists.

Fife Flyers assistant coach Jeff Hutchins had the following to say on the re-signing of Birziņš "Ricky played a huge part in our success last year. He competed and added offense from the back-end. We are expecting him to come in and pick up where he left off last season."

Ričards Birziņš will again wear the #43 for the Flyers and comes into the line up this weekend.
