Mike Cazzola

Fife Flyers are delighted to confirm the signing of 27-year-old Canadian Mike Cazzola, for the 2018/19 season.

Cazzola is no stranger to the EIHL, having played for former local rivals the Edinburgh Capitals during the 2017/18 season, where he played in 52 games, scoring 14 goals and 39 assists, for a total of 53 points.

The point-a-game, 5’7, 165lbs, left handed Centreman is originally from Guelph, ON. Prior to joining the Caps last season, he spent the 2016/17 season playing in the ECHL for Fort Wayne Komets and the AHL with Binghamton Senators.

Mike had the following to say on signing for the club “After a difficult season with the Edinburgh Capitals last year, I couldn’t be more excited to have a fresh start in Fife.”

“Although Edinburgh was an amazing city and the fans were great, I’m looking forward to joining a new team and organization.”

“I have heard nothing but good things about the organization, the management and the players that they have brought in. It will be great to see Shane Owen again who I played with back in the OHL years, and I’m looking forward to playing for a team who will compete in every game.”

“I know from experience what a good fan base Fife has and I’m excited to see what this year has in store.”

Mike added “I hope that I can help take the team to the next level and we can continue with the momentum of last season’s success.”

“Right now, I’m just focused on getting in shape and looking forward to meeting the team and having a fresh start with a winning mentality.”

Head Coach Todd Dutiaume added “Mike will complement our returning forwards well. He’s always dangerous with the puck on his stick and we believe he will become a fan favourite here in Fife.”

“We followed him closely last season and feel he has even more to offer in a Flyers jersey.”

“He'll play a critical role in this squad on and off the ice and I'm sure our supporters will join me in welcoming Caz to Kirkcaldy.”
