Scott Aarssen

Fife Flyers are delighted to confirm the signing of Canadian Defenceman Scott Aarssen.

30 year old, 5’11, 190lbs left hand defenceman Aarssen is no stranger to the EIHL having played for rivals Braehead Clan from season 2013/14 to 2016/17 and Sheffield Steelers during the 2017/18 season.

Prior to joining the EIHL, Aarssen played in Austria with Dornbirner EC and is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, where he was appointed Assistant Captain for the University Team.

To find out more about Aarssen, check out his stats on Elite Prospects:

Scott had the following to say on signing for the Flyers “My family and I are extremely happy to be heading to Kirkcaldy to play for the Flyers this upcoming season. After doing some research, everyone I spoke to had nothing but great things to say about the organization and the town.”

“Having been in the league for a while now, I know all about the fans & the incredible atmosphere in Fife. I look forward to playing in front of them and receiving cheers instead of jeers!”

“I couldn’t be more excited to get over there and meet my new teammates and coaches. I think Todd & Jeff have done a great job so far in assembling a team that will work hard and be successful. My goal is for our team to win every trophy and do whatever it takes to help the team win. I can’t wait to hit the ice and get started.”

Head Coach Todd Dutiaume added “We were really pleased to secure Scott’s services for the season ahead. We have always admired his style of play and after speaking to him in the summer, we were keen to add him to the roster.”

“He is an experienced player, who knows the league well, and he will be an asset both on and off the ice.”

“Scott will fit in well with the team we are building and it’s great to have him on board.”

With more contracts expected back in the next few days, we hope to bring you more signing news in the coming days!
