Fife Flyers vs Dundee Stars game summary

The Gardiner Conference champions Fife Flyers, sponsored by Arnold Clark Mercedes-Benz, hosted the Dundee Stars in Friday night at Fife Ice Arena for the first time after securing the Gardiner Conferenc title following their dramatic 7-6 overtime victory in Dundee last month.

Flyers welcomed back netminder Andy Iles and forward Liam Heelis into the line-up, with a three game weekend Jordan Marr started for Flyers ahead of Andy Iles who returns following injury.

It took almost 10 minutes for the first goal but it came for the Flyers at 9:08 when Carlo Finucci fired the puck from behind the Dundee net, going in off the skate of Dundee Stars netminder Travis Fullerton.

Thirty seconds later Dundee Stars captain Chris Lawrence saw himself eject from the game following a cross checking incident on Flyers defenceman James Isaacs, and despite a 5 minute poweplay, Flyers were unable to capitalise on the man advantage, and Dundee saw the period out with Flyers taking a 1 goal lead into the second period.

Dundee got themselves back into the game at 27:09 when Anthony Mastrodicasa's shot from the point found it's way through traffic and into Jordan Marr's net to tie the game.

As it looked as though the teams would head into the dressing Dundee took the lead at 38:31 when Jimmy Jensen fired a shot in to the top of Jordan Marr's net.

Gabriel Levesque put Dundee 3-1 up when his shot sneaked through Jordan Marr at 45:09. Malcolm Gould made it 4-1 shortly after when he fired his shot into the top corner at 49:01.

Despite Flyers best effort the score remainded 4-1 to the visitors and Dundee secured two points in the push for a PredictorBet play-off spot.
