Fife Flyers vs Edinburgh Capitals game summary

The Gardiner Conference champions Fife Flyers, sponsored by Arnold Clark Mercedes-Benz, hosted the Edinburgh Capitals in the re-arranged fixture following last week's postponed game due to the adverse weather on Tuesday night at Fife Ice Arena.

Flyers welcomed back Danick Gauthier into the line-up, however they went into the game without Reece Cochrane, Ian Young, Evan Bloodoff, Brady Ramsay, Liam Heelis and netminder Andy Iles.

Chase Schaber put the Flyers 1-0 up at 4:18 when he connected with a Charlie Mosey pass at Jordan McLaughlin's back post in the Edinburgh net.

With Flyers dominating the majority of the play they finally doubled their lead at 18:52 when Peter LeBlanc fired a first time shot from a Jim Jorgensen pass from behind the Capitals net to make it 2-0 going into the dressing room at the end of the opening period.

It took Flyers until 31:55 to get their 3rd goal of the game and it came from Peter LeBlanc who plucked the puck out the air in front of the Edinburgh net to redirect the puck beyond Jordan McLauglin.

James Isaacs scored the goal of the night with a fantastic solo effort which saw him skate through the Capitals defence to fire the puck into the net to make it 4-0 at 33:26, before Ričards Birziņš made it 5-0 at 33:45.

Dylan Anderson got the visitors on the scoreboard with a shot that went in off the underside of Jordan Marr's bar at 42:50.

Peter LeBlanc completed his hattrick and sealed the win when he put Flyers 6-1 up at 50:48.
