Game Preview vs Edinburgh Capitals

Doors Open 5:30pm, Face-Off 7:30pm

This Tuesday your Gardiner Conference champions Fife Flyers, sponsored by Arnold Clark Mercedes-Benz, welcome back old rivals the Edinburgh Capitals to Fife Ice Arena for the final time this season.

Edinburgh return to Fife Ice Arena as the first Gardiner Conference side to take on the newly crowned Gardiner Conference champions. Tuesday's fixtures sees the teams compete in last week's postponed game due to the adverse weather which brought the country to a standstill.

Going into this Tuesday's fixtures Flyers have won 5 of their last 7 games.

This weekend Flyers went head to head with Manchester Storm with a plague of injuries with Evan Bloodoff, Andy Iles, Danick Gauthier, and Ian Young all out throug injury, with Liam Heelis and Carlo Finucci picking up knocks on Saturday.

Head coach Todd Dutiaume was hopeful that Heelis and Finucci would return to the line up as Flyers made the journey south to take on MK Lightning on Sunday.

This season Flyers currently lead the season head to head with Mike D'Orazio's side with 8 wins from 8 games, scoring 41 goals and conceding only 13 goals.

Beslorowany joins the Capitals with a hugely impressive CV having been drafted in the second round of the 2008 NHL Draft by the Dallas Stars. Tyler made the breakthrough in to the AHL in 2010-2011 signing for the Texas Stars. Between 2010-2014 Tyler made 64 appearances in the American Hockey League (he has played 66 times in the league to date) and split his time between the AHL and ECHL during that time. In his first season as a professional in 2010-2011 Tyler made it to the ECHL All Star game. Between 2014 and 2016 Tyler played for Dusseldorfer and Nurnberg in the German DEL. In 2015-2016 he was named the DEL Netminder of the year.

D'Orazio took over as joint head coach with Jock Hay earlier this season following the departure of Dmitri Khristich. D'Orazio is in his second season with the Capitals after making his pro debut with the Murrayfield club in 2016/17. D'Orazio iced in 57 games in his first pro year, scoring 9 goals and 28 assists. This year, despite a troublesome season, D'Orazio has continued to set a high standard for his players. D'Orazio has played in 38 games, scoring 2 goals and 13 assists so far this season.

The signing of Cazzola made many fans around the league take notice of the Edinburgh Capitals this summer. The forward was the top point scorer for his club the Fort Wayne Komets, and was also the top point scoring rookie in the ECHL with 76 points (30 goals and 46 assists) in just 67 games. Voted on to the ECHL All Rookie All Star team, Cazzola ranked joint 11th overall in the league for point scoring in his first season in the highly competitive league.
