Fife Flyers vs Braehead Clan game summary

Fife Flyers, sponsored by Arnold Clark Mercedes-Benz, hosted their west coast rivals the Braehead Clan for the final time this season in Gardiner Conference action as Todd Dutiaume's side looked to bounce back from a Saturday night defeat in Braehead.

Flyers were once again without captain Russ Moyer through injury, and forward Brady Ramsay.

Todd Dutiaume's side got off to a great start when Shayne Stockton fired the home side into an early lead at 2:37 with rocket from inside the blue line.

Ryan Potulny leveled the game for the visitors after a pouncing on loose puck in the Flyers creased at 4:51. Potulny then put the Clan in the lead with a powerplay goal, the former NHLer picked up the puck at Andy Iles back post and scored with an easy tap at 8:35.

Flyers looked to get themselves back on the scoresheet but Ryan Nie in the Clan net was equal to everything that Fife throw at him.

Second period action saw the Flyers dominate the majority of the play and were rewarded for their hardwork at 29:40 when Shayne Stockton scored his second goal of the night on the powerplay to tie the game at 2-2.

Five minutes later Carlo Finucci put his side 3-2 up after drilling a shot beyond Ryan Nie in the Braehead net at 34:58, sending the home fans wild.

A flawless third period saw Flyers secure another win over their west coast rivals thanks to a brace from Carlo Finucci which saw him complete his hattrick.

Carlo Finucci got his second goal of the night at 52:40 when he beat Ryan Nie in the Clan net. Finucci completed his hattrick a few minutes later at 55:29 to seal another win over the Braehead Clan.
