As the 2017/18 Elite Ice Hockey League season heads towards the final stages, we are pleased to announce the latest winner of the fans player of the month for the month of January.
Fans were given the opportunity to vote for their player of the month having been given a list of 4 candidates, Evan Bloodoff, Russ Moyer, Charlie Mosey and Liam Heelis.
This month we are pleased to announce that Evan Bloodoff has been voted the fans Player of the Month for the month of January, his second time of winning having previously won the award in October.
Bloodoff leads the Flyers for goals scored this seasons with 25 league goals, 10 of those goals coming during the month of January, with Flyers having recorded 5 wins from 9 games this past month.
"Every point is huge going forward and you're not going to feel your best every night but great teams find a way to win no matter what the circumstances.
"We can’t look too far ahead, we just need to focus on the task at hand, one game at a time. With so many games you have to have a short memory win or lose and it gives us a chance to gain a lot of momentum going into playoffs because this is the time teams need to be playing their best.
Flyers return to action this evening at Fife Ice Arena as Braehead Clan visit for the final time this season. Flyers travelled to Glasgow on Saturday and suffered their first defeat of the season against John Tripp's side. Bloodoff admitted that tonight's game is pivotal.
"Tonight will be the biggest game of the season so far, we learned from last night and put it behind us. We all know it’s a must win tonight and everyone is going to bring their best tonight."
