This weekend Fife Flyers, sponsored by Arnold Clark Mercedes-Benz, take on Gardiner Conference rivals the Braehead Clan in a home and away double header, as Flyers host the Clan at Fife Ice Arena on Saturday 6th January, face-off 7:15pm.

Flyers go into this weekend having won all 3 league encounters this season against Braehead and Charlie Mosey is keen for that run to continue but knows that his teammates will be facing a much improved Clan team.

"Those were 3 huge wins against Braehead to start off the season series. Having said that, those games were early on in the season, so we know that we will be seeing a different Braehead team, who will be hungry to get a couple games back in the series and jump ahead in the conference.

"At the halfway point of the season, we have proven that we are a difficult team to play against. We have a hungry team that doesn't quit, which has really shown in our results since the beginning of December. We hope to keep the momentum going into the second half of the season."

Flyers have seen crowd numbers climb recently and Mosey was keen to emphasise the importance the home fans play.

"We feed off of the crowd's energy. As an individual, every time you step out on the ice it makes you want to make a big play whether it's a nice pass, big hit, or blocked shot.
