Fife Flyers vs MK Lightning game preview

This Sunday the Fife Flyers, sponsored by Arnold Clark Mercedes-Benz, welcome back the Elite Ice Hockey League newcomers Milton Keynes Lightning to Fife Ice Arena for the second time this season.

MK Lightning, lead by head coach Pete Russell, may be one of 2 new teams this season but they have made sure that the league have sat up and taken notice thanks to some impressive results, in particular their recent 7-2 annihilation of the Sheffield Steelers.

Pete Russell's side currently sit second in the newly created Patton Conference, 1 point behind the Manchester Storm with the Lightning having played 1 game less. Milton Keynes have the better head to head with the Storm having won 3 of their 4 league games so far this season.

The Lightning travelled to Fife back in October and it was the Flyers who came away with a 3-2 win thanks to goals from Charlie Mosey, a fantastic solo effort from Chase Schaber and a game winning short handed goal from defenceman Ričards Birziņš.

This weekend see's Todd Dutiaume's side with just the one game and will be looking to extende their winning streak following last weekend's 4 point weekend.
