As the 2017/18 Elite Ice Hockey League season gathers momentum, we are pleased to announce the recipient of the Fife Flyers October Player of the Month award.
Fans were given the opportunity to vote for their player of the month having been given a list of 4 candidates, Andy Iles, Evan Bloodoff, Liam Heelis and Chase Schaber. Last month the first player of the month saw a close run vote with Charlie Mosey coming out as the winner.
This month we are please to announce that Evan Bloodoff has been voted the fans Player of the Month for the month of October.
Bloodoff lead the Flyers in goals scored for the month of October with 10 goals, he also added 4 assists to tally 14 points for October across the Challenge Cup and league.
"Personally I felt it was a good start to the season, we were still getting used to playing with new players and new line mates but I was fortunate to have 2 great players on my line which had a major impact on my personal success this month.
"As a team we are growing as a group and will continue to improve as the season progresses. I think we surprised a lot of teams with our work ethic and it shows in our record so far."
Bloodoff highlighted one game in particular that stood out for him during the month that saw him score 10 goals.
"I would say the 4 goals I had in breahead would be the game that stands out for me, I can't even remember the last time I had that many in one game."
After having played 5 games in 9 days, Bloodoff and his teammates go into this weekend knowing they only have a one game weekend as they host the Belfast Giants in league and Challenge Cup action.
"It's nice to have a little break after a 3 in 3 and and a double header against arguably two of the best teams in the league so we plan on getting some rest after a big game on Saturday."
