PREVIEW | Fife Flyers vs Guildford Flames (8.10.2017)

This Sunday sees the return of a familiar name to Fife Ice Arena as the Guildford Flames make the journey to Kirkcaldy for the first time since 2005 when both Fife and Guildford were part of the British National League.

Flames head coach Paul Dixon has been in charge of the club following the demise of the BNL, this season is Dixon's 13th year as coach of the Surrey based side.

Prior to the 2017/18 season Guildford had been playing in the English Premier Ice Hockey League since the 2005/6 season before making the step up to the EIHL this season, alongside with MK Lightning.

The Flames are currently sitting in 7th position in the league going into this weekend's fixtures with 5 points, having recorded 1 win and 3 overtime losses.

Flames have this week drafted in netminder Chris Carrozzi following an injury to starting netminder Brian Stewart, who the club have confirmed will be out injured for several weeks.

Fife vs Guildford is a fixture many fans will look back fondly on, with both sides vying against each other in the past for league honours.
