Chase Schaber in action vs Herlev Eagles

Fife Flyers, sponsored by Arnold Clark Mercedes-Benz, wrapped up their series of home pre-season ties against Herlev Eagles on Sunday evening at Fife Ice Arena fresh from their 3-1 victory on Saturday night.

Flyers started the game on Sunday without the injured Shayne Stockton and Sean Beattie and gave the starting netminder role to Jordan Marr. On Saturday Flyers were heavily outshot by their opponents in the opening period however there was to be no repeat of that on Sunday.

Flyers had the better of the scoring opportunities in the opening period and got the go ahead goal after Liam Heelis was impeded on an attack with referee Pavel Halas calling a penalty shot on the play.

Heelis calmly slotted the puck beyond Evan Mosher in the Herlev net to put Fife 1-0 up at 17:06.

Herlev tied the game late in the first period when Frederik Bjerrum squeezed the puck beyond Jordan Marr at 19:13.

Both teams kept the 2nd period close but neither team troubled to test either netminder and the score remained 1-1 going into the 3rd period.

3 goals in the 3rd period ensured that the Danes secured the win as Kim Staal grabbed a double before Scott Jacklin secured the win with an empty net goal at 58:13.
