Following on from a Saturday evening road win in Manchester, the FiFab Fife Flyers returned to Fife Ice Arena to host Manchester Storm Sunday evening as they looked to record their 4th win in 5 games over the festive period and wrap up a 4 point weekend. New forward Bryan Cameron made his home debut in front of the Fife fans, having scored in his opening game in Manchester to help seal a 4-2 victory for Fife.
First period action saw both teams press for the opening goal, Brendan Brooks set up Justin Fox for the the first chance of the game but Manchester netminder Mike Clemente was equal to the shot.
Returning to the Flyers line up was forward Sebastien Thinel, and he was in fine form on his return and in the opening period he produced a fantastic play to help set up teammate Matt Sisca who was unable to find a way passed Mike Clemente.
As the period was coming to a close, Flyers were heading towards a penalty kill for the first time in the game, however with the extra man on the ice Manchester got the puck in the net thanks to Paul Phillips to give the Storm a 1-0 lead going into the dressing rooms.
Into the 2nd period and Flyers were determined to get themselves back in the game but were being frustrated by a hot netminder in the Manchester net and were unable to find a way passed Mike Clemente.
Brendan Brooks and Mathew Sisca had a great opportunity to tie the game up only to see Brooks pulled back and Flyers were awarded a penalty shot on the play. Brooks took the penalty shot and beat Clemente, only for the puck to rattle the post.
Flyers did get themselves on the score sheet at 33:58 when Brendan Brooks capitalised on the powerplay for Fife to make it 1-1. As the 2nd period was coming to a close, captain Ryan Dingle put Fife in the lead with a shot from in front of Storm net to beat Mike Clemente.
Into the final period and despite Manchester's best efforts, it was the Flyers who would score the only goal of the period when Justin Fox sealed a 4 point weekend for Flyers with an empty net goal at 59:59.
